Thank you to all the students and parents who came out to our Celebration of Learning.   This night was planned as a class, and I appreciate all the hard work and great ideas our classroom brought to this evening.I always struggle making this a meaningful night for everyone involved.   If anyone has some grand ideas on how to make this night more authentic, and fun, please send me a note!  

A brief core outline of our November and December.  For school wide events please check the calendar.

English Language Arts -  writing workmanship focused on sentence fluency in particular sentence length, sentence starters and varied vocabulary.

                                          -We just finished Farley Mowat's novel Owls in the Family 

Mathematics - Number.  Comparing numbers (> ,  <,  =) rounding, estimating and beginning 2 digit, 3 digit addition subtraction, mental mathematics and problem  

                           solving.

We don't have a home reading program, but I encourage and hope that all my students are reading regularly.  Thank you for making time!

As January comes closer, a reminder that we will be skating at the ice rink for that month.  Students are required to have well fitting sharpened skates and a skating or hockey helmet.  Bicycle helmets and the like are not safe alternatives.  If you would like some help finding a helmet or skates please drop me a note and I'll look or ask around.
