Magrath Elementary School - Westwind School Division

When you come to Kindergarten:

  1. Please make this a celebration for your child.  Let them tell you what the routines are, where they keep their things, and explain to you the workings of our kindergarten day.
  2. You may be asked to do things that you may not be comfortable doing (i.e. reading to the students, assessing a small group, etc.)  Please let the teacher know if you are concerned or uncomfortable with the task.
  3. Please feel free to support whatever activity is going on and to interact with all of the students in the class.
  4. During specific center time, you will be asked to work with a small group in an activity that requires support from an adult.  If you are unsure of the activity, please check with the classroom teacher or EA.
  5. Please become as familiar as you can with the routines of the kindergarten - i.e. calendar time, news, ticket center time, and freeplay center time.
  6. Please respect the professional code of conduct of all visitors to the Magrath Elementary School - if you have concerns or questions, please discuss them with the teacher.  Everything that happens regarding children in our school must be kept in confidence -  respecting the rights of the child, parent and school.  Anything discussed outside of the school with respect to children other than your own child or criticism of the school, other parents, the teacher or anything outside of the realm of your own child is a breach of confidentiality and will have to be dealt with at the administrative level.

Thank you to all parents who come and help us in our Kindergarten.  Our goal is to have a positive learning experience for all.

Note:  The day that you come to school will be your child's "Special Day".  However, we realize that some parents are unable to come to the school to participate with the class.  Every student will have their own "Special Day" in the month regardless of whether or not their parent is able to attend.
