Unit on Patterns: We have begun describing pattern rules and using a pattern rule to predict the next elements in a pattern; expressing a pattern rule as an algebraic expression. Next we will learn how to solve problems using equations.
We have been working on our multiplication tables. So far we have learned strategies for out 2, 5, 9, 4 and 8 times tables. Ask your child to show you their strategies. We are working at becoming experts at these multiplication facts. Students should be practicing these every night at their level so the may "pass off" facts when we do our weekly mad minute, and move on to the next set of tables. They can practice with worksheets that I have available in my multiplication binder, or they may go online and practice with the fun multiplication games.
