Magnificent Math

In math we are currently working on Mental Math.  We are using several different strategies to help us add and subtract.  We use strategies such as: counting on, doubles plus 1, doubles take away 1, making 10, counting back, addition for subtraction, add the tens and then the ones, make one number 'friendly' and then correct, as well as subtract the tens and then subtract the ones and add the totals.  Whew!!  There is a lot to know!!!!

Here we are placing our very own race cars in ascending order on our race track!  Please do ask any grade three student what ascending order means!!

November 21, 2011 Using different strategies to count numbers between 100 -1000!  Then we made some number expressions 100 + 100 + 92 as well as

 100 + 100 +100 +100 +80.
