Grade 3 Language Arts

Hello Grade Three Friends and Family!

Language Arts is full of fun.  Get ready to learn

all sorts of ways to become great readers and

writers.  

We are working on writing really juicy stories!  We have talked about exciting beginnings, eleborating and adding details, writing with suspence, as well as using a variety of sentence starters  Our writing has gotten juicier :)

During the month of December the grade 3s completed a mini LA unit based on the Gingerbread Man story.  We read a lot of different versions of the story.  Ask us which version was our favourite!  On the last day of school before the holiday break, we decorated pre-baked gingerbread men, used gingerbread dough and fashioned our own gingerbread cookie, baked our gingerbread men, and finally decorated our gingerbread men cookies.  Whew!  What a day we had.  All the grade 3's thought that baking was WAY more fun then regular school work.  Miss Fitzpatrick disagreed!!!
