We made some playgrounds in our building unit. The students had fun!

Jaxon is building a basketball net.
Zach has a lot going on.

http://www.learner.org/interactives/rockcycle Click on this interactive site to learn about the types of rocks.
We made our rock cookies and they were delicious!! Thanks to everyone who helped by contributing ingredients! Here are some pictures of the process. Mrs. Wilde allowed us to use her wonderful new kitchen. Talyssa took all the pictures!
SERIOUS. (See the tongue poking out?) The amount needed to be equal to prevent fighting for the largest cookies.
Rayden supplied the chocolate chips, Mrs. Davies' favorite ingredient. (We used a whole bag!)
We applied some pressure; just like metamorphic rocks, cookies need pressure.
We were lucky to have such a huge kitchen to work in.
Cleaning up was part of the process.
Don't let them roll off Mrs. Davies!! (She's doing it with her eyes closed! Amazing!!)
Now for the heat--pressure & heat. Just like what rocks need.
Some people decided to relax and put their feet up while the girls cleaned up!
Viola! They were ready to be examined and sampled. (They tasted better than they looked)
You can't eat them 'til you write about them Jaxon!
They were the best ,weren't they Lucy?!
We are learning about Hearing and Sound.
Ask your child 1)How can you make salt move without touching it or blowing it.?
2) How does sound enter your ear & what happens to it once it gets in?
3) What are the names of the parts of the outer, middle and inner ear?
4) What parts of our bodies help us speak?
